Check up – dental examination - €40
A dental examination is a process in which a dentist examines the teeth and gums for signs of disease or irregularity. Regular dental examinations are important even for patients with good at-home dental hygiene practices. A dentist may be able to identify tooth or gum problems at an early stage, when they are easier to treat. Problems such as tooth decay may not become apparent to the patient (e.g., cause pain) until they are significant. Dental experts recommend that patients visit a dentist for an examination and cleaning twice a year.
X –ray – €20
Scale & polish - €80
Scale and polish- is a method used to remove plaque and tartar that prevents caries and gum diseases.
Deep scale & polish – €70 (1/2 arch with a local anaesthetic)
Deep scale and polish (root planning) is the process of smooth the root surfaces and removing any infected tooth structure. If you have gum disease or gum pocketing, the oral gum pocketing, the gum pockets around the teeth will have deepened, thereby allowing tartar deposits to form under the gum.
Dental restoration
Dental restorations are procedures to repair a damaged or decayed tooth.
The most common type of restorative dentistry is a filling, which may be:
- amalgam (silver)- €60
- composite resin (white) :
- - one surface – €90
- - two surfaces – €100
- - hree surfaces – €120
Dental Cavity
- Cavities are holes in teeth, formed when plaque erodes the tooth’s enamel.
Tooth extraction - €90
Surgical tooth extraction - €160
Root canal treatment
- front tooth – from €300
- premolar – from €450
- molar – from €600
Its purpose is to conserve teeth that have been so badly damaged by decay fracture abscess, etc. that normal restorative procedures can no longer be employed.
Treatment is usually accomplished in one to two visits, but endodontic requires a precise and exacting technique and occasionally circumstances may indicate the necessity for more visits. The dentist removes the inflamed or infected pulp, carefully cleans and shapes the inside of the canal (a channel inside the root) then fills and seals the space.
Root canal therapy is seldom a painful experience. We shall make every effort to provide for your comfort and well-being. While treatment is relatively painless, at times reactions (eg. tenderness or even swelling) can and do occur between visits. Although these reactions may tend to prolong treatment, they do not necessarily change the chances of success.
